The 5th Summer Early Music Methodical Courses

The Summer Early Music Methodical Courses are addressed to teachers in music, as well as students and pupils of music schools at college level, soloists and ensembles interested in early music, dancers and mixed dance/instrumental groups.

This year's edition offers courses in methodology and interpretation in voice, violin, transverse flute, recorder, shawm, bagpipes, viola da gamba, cello, harpsichord, lute, organ, clavichord, realisation of basso continuo, chamber music with basso continuo, historical dance, history of Art, historical musical temperaments.
The purpose of the course is to provide methodological tools for development in teaching, research and interpretation of Early Music.

These are presented as lectures, open masterclasses, workshops, chamber music sessions, concerts of both lecturers and participants, dance classes and are supported with class for psychoeducation.
The ensembles will rehearse in instrumental groups and tutti. Both historic and modern instruments are accepted, as well as the mixed string/wind ensembles with basso continuo.

Each participant of the course receives the 5th SEMMC Certificate of Participation.
The lessons take place in Warsaw, at Frederic Chopin State School of Music, Bednarska 11, Dormitory of The Frederick Chopin University of Music "Dziekanka", St. Anne's Academic Church and Archcathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.
