Vasily Sarenko

Vasily Sarenko (born 06.29.1814, Voronezh, mind. 06.17.1881, Orel) - Russian singer on seven-string guitar and composer. He studied at the medical faculty at Moscow University (graduated in 1833), a few years after graduation, he defended his doctoral dissertation and received his medical degree, served as a military physician. A lot of personal time devoted to the guitar. It is considered the last representative of guitar school Andrei Osipovich Sichrow. Published 14 original pieces for guitar and several transcriptions. Despite the fact that Sarenko was an outstanding performer, he almost did not perform in public and rarely gave guitar lessons. A close friend of the famous Russian guitarist FM Zimmermann (1813-1882).
